Since being responsible for founding the famous Wagga Wagga Picnic Race Day in the 1880s, the Riverine Club has remained at the heart and soul of the premier picnic racing event on the Australian country calendar. The finest racehorses meet in a seven race card annually at the historic Murrumbidgee Turf Club track on the Saturday of the October long weekend.
Young and old alike enjoy a great day out with picnic atmosphere, bookies, private marquees, champagne, live music and fashion events.
The next Wagga Wagga Picnics Cocktail Party is scheduled take place at the Riverine Club as a precusor to the Picnics.
The Wagga Wagga Picnic Race Day proudly supports the Country Hope childrens charity. Racing starts around midday on the Saturday at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club, Travers Street, Wagga Wagga, New South Wales. There is disabled access, food, parking and an entrance fee of approximately $20 for adults and free for under 18s provided they are accompanied by an adult. Booking for accomodation at the Riverine Club should be made well in advance.
